Penn-Harris-Madison will not have to have masks at start of school calendar year

MISHAWAKA — Pupils in the Penn-Harris-Madison university district will not be needed to use masks in the new university calendar year.

College students will however be necessary to dress in masks on buses pursuing federal orders for general public transportation.

In a move against the suggestions of regional, condition and national wellness officers, the P-H-M school board voted 5-2 on Monday to approve a “Return to In-Person Instruction” program that allows for the optional use of experience coverings at all quality levels.

“It’s these a impressive, psychological, private choice for a household,” Superintendent Jerry Thacker stated. “We look at college students who have exemptions for healthcare motives, for spiritual good reasons. It really is hardly ever as black and white as it appears.”
